VICTORY OVER CANCER

The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN and legendary basketball coach Jim Valvano with one goal in mind: to achieve Victory Over CancerĀ°. The V Foundation has awarded more than $250 million in cancer research grants nationwide and has grown to become one of the premier supporters of cutting-edge cancer research.

Jim's legendary speech in 1993 paved the way for moments like the one Stuart Scott gave us at the 2014 ESPYS. His message "Fight. Fight Like Hell." continues to inspire. Stuart's fight against cancer did not end when he passed away in January 2015. Through the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund, we fund research that explores why some cancers are more likely to occur, more aggressive or harder to treat in some minority populations.

The V Foundation is proud to award 100% of direct donations to cancer research and programs.

The Foundation has an endowment that covers administrative expenses.

Give Today to Save More Lives Tomorrow
Because of your generosity, more people are surviving a cancer diagnosis than ever before. The overall cancer death rate in the U.S. has fallen by 26% since 1993. But our work is not done. More funding is needed to continue advancements that will save more lives.
